WHAT HAPPENED TO THE iBUDGET?

APD hosted an iBudget workshop on December 9, 2011 to present an option referred to as “Model A” for implementing the iBudget system.  Under the initial proposed iBudget model, two-thirds of the people served would receive cost plan cuts, with many people receiving more than 40% in cuts.  This model could result in 45% of the individuals served not having enough in their budgets to cover their current “core services” as defined by APD.(The APD also uses critical and non-critical terminology in lieu of core and non-core.)

APD has significantly altered the iBudget concept from what was proposed, discussed and developed with stakeholders.  Because of the problems with the initial iBudget model, APD now proposes to implement a “Model A” iBudget system in Areas 1 and 2 in January before moving statewide with the system.
